About Me

Web Design is a joining of technology and art. I enjoy designing websites because in doing so I am creating works of art. Every website should be a masterpiece in its own right. Although the art may not be as traditional as a painting or a book, it is just as valid. Each site must be aesthetically pleasing, be functional, and convey a message or an idea through its design. If a website does not evoke some feeling or emotion, it is simply a way to present information and not something that encourages exploration.

After designing the album art and posters for Eric Hill’s latest album Second Sight, I was hired to redesign his website in the same way. The album artwork was centered on clouds and the sky. I used many of the ideas and tones from the music in the design of the site so that the site evokes the calm, peaceful feeling of the music using colors pleasing to the eye and the mind, with enough contrast at points to create excitement.

I believe strongly that the music one listens to when one is creating art can directly influence the art that is produced. I always listen to music when I am designing. Mark Williams, a world-renowned painter, shares the same belief in the power of music, so when I was hired to design his site I asked him what music he listened to when he painted. I made sure to listen to that same type of music when I was working on the design of his site, and I think it helped the site acquire some aspects of his art. In the same way that Eric Hill’s site channeled the feeling of the music, Mark’s took on the smooth, rhythmic feeling of the Blues and of his paintings, provoking thought.

I work with clients to design a site that is beautiful and pleasing to them. Your website can be anything you want it to be: it can say as much or as little as you desire. I will work with you to bring life to what you envision, and offer my own artistic insights and ideas of design to present your content in an exciting, straight-forward, and elegant way. Your site will be impressive and professional, and will be admired by those who visit it. Please visit my Portfolio Page to see some of my works, and I look forward to working with you on your site!
